I have been trying to tame my lovebirds the same way as my budgies and finches but they keep biting me before they will get on my hand to eat the seeds. Bow bites hard about 10 times before steping up and Arrow just nibbles but won't get on my hand and they both won't go near it when it is by there cage. I don't know if I want to keep trying to tame them so I am asking for some tips before I give up.

Lovebirds have been known as agressive birds so training is a bit different. Im not sure on others' methods but what I did was I wore a glove so that any biting would not hurt me. Lovebirds will try to take any advantage over you they can get, so if they see that thier biting is hurting you, they will keep biting- thus the glove. then you can work on taming them the same as before. Tweety and Pop Tart still aren't completely tame, but they will step up and let me pet them as long as my hand has a towel or glove on it then again, lovebirds used for breeding aren't as tame as others. Tweety was as tame as can be before I started letting her breed though.
